(Shelbie's POV) Shelbie and Janel met as two young, fresh, teenagers fresh out of high school preparing to embark on the next level of their scholastic careers-college in June of 2009. Fate brought these two souls together at orientation (or C.I. for all you GDub folk). Shelbie looked at Janel's head and was impressed. Shelbie looked at her own head and was impressed only a week after she left the salon. Sigh. Their bond began to form progressively through food, fashion, studying (the dreaded Thurston Basement), exercise, music, and HAIR. It took months of deciding but finally in April of 2010, Shelbie decide to go natural (again). She took to the scissors and cut of inches of her permed hair.
Now, they mistakenly get taken for twins. 0_0 (she wishes)
Now they help each other in their product hording habits and discuss life together daily by means of bbm. #teamblackberry
Good friends they are. Good friend they will remain. We all we got!
Janel's POV:
Me: I'm a foodie, a reader, slightly anal retentive. I think too much. I enjoy articles and research about race relations and feminism. I was told I have expensive taste. I like good quality. Quality people, clothes, food, and time. I spend WAY too many hours looking up information about my hair and health. I'm a pseudo vegetarian. (Still holding on to chicken!) I'm getting stronger and better at life each day.
Finding my friend Shelbie: I went to GWU hoping to meet new people that I could be inspired by, grow and learn from. After 2 semesters of filtering out the unhealthy bits and pieces I was left with Shelbie. I really admire her confidence and her style. I knew I had to keep her around when I found out we wear the same sizes in shoes and clothes.
